Spring in Kufstein
If you love the beginning of the warm seasons at our latitudes, Kufstein is the perfect place to visit. So, for example, a hike to see the Christmas roses on Kufstein's local mountain is a special highlight. Between February and May, nature showcases the unparalleled splendor of the Christmas rose blossoms. With a thick network of hiking paths, there are a variety of ways to reach the blossoming flowers. As always, we recommended sturdy shoes even though paths are well-maintained on this 3-hour, ca. 6 km tour with around 500 vertical meters.
When the hazel shrubs with their long, yellow catkins growing from the branch sway in the breeze, then it is time for a hike via Kufstein's Elfenhain. This uphill trail is located right across from the Madersperger monument on the Kienbergstraße. This winding trail leads uphill in many curves, and your constant companions along this trail are snowdrops, crocuses, liverwort, wood anemone, and violets - the first heralds of spring. Via Gasthof Hintertuxer-Hof, taking a detour to the Dickichtkapelle chapel on the Bobweg path, this loop trail comes to an end via the Hörfarterweg trail.
