Erl passion plays
The passion plays are performed every 6 years. More than 600 actors and participants from Erl tell the moving story of the life and death of Jesus Christ. Let yourself be carried away by the performances in the oldest passion play location in the German-speaking regions from May to October 5, 2025. The passion plays in Erl were first mentioned in historical documents in the 17th century. 2013 was a very special year for the Erl passion plays, because it was the 400-year anniversary. For this special occasion, the dialogue was rewritten by famous Tyrolean author and actor Felix Mitterer.
Hotel Stadt Kufstein will be offering packages for the Erl passion plays of 2025. The dates for the passion plays have not been currently released. Admission time is specified as 12:30 pm, the performance begins at 1:00 pm, and the play is set to last around 3 hours.
