Tyrol Festival Erl
The Tyrol Festival, which takes place in the peaceful municipality of Erl, can be reached 14 kilometers away from Kufstein via autobahn A12 in only a few minutes. An unusual but efficient marketing strategy is the cow that serves as a sort of mascot and cultural marketing ambassador. Both venues for this event are quite impressive and visible from a distance. Since June 1959, the white, large-scale sculpture by the architect of the passion play house, Robert Schuller, has unmistakably characterized the landscape. Designed by the creative drive of the architecture firm Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, the festival hall, opened in 2014, is nestled in the mountain landscape as a black, angular, architecturally unique structure.
The festival hall is an excellent venue in both summer and winter offering high-quality performances. Since September 2019, Bernd Loebe has assumed overall responsibility as manager and artistic director. Bavarian pianist and music manager Marcus M. Küchle is the assistant artistic director.
