The lake at a glance

Stimmersee is a small, unspoilt swimming lake in the municipality of Langkampfen near Kufstein. Thanks to its manageable size and peaceful setting, it is ideal for a simple day out.

Swimming and Relaxing

Lake Stimmersee is a popular spot for swimming and relaxing, particularly in summer. On the western and eastern shores, there are grassy areas where you can sunbathe, rest and linger.

The gentle slope into the water makes it ideal for families with children. Changing rooms and toilet facilities are available on site. The water quality is officially rated as excellent, making the lake an attractive destination for a day of swimming close to nature.

Due to its small size, the lake feels more intimate than many of the larger swimming lakes in the region. Those who don’t wish to stay all day can simply come down to the water for a few hours and combine their visit with a short break or a stop for refreshments.

Walking and hiking around the lake

Even if you’re not planning to go for a swim, Stimmersee is a lovely spot for a short break in the countryside. If you just fancy a short stroll, you can walk along the lakeshore, linger on the sunbathing lawns, or find a shady spot at the edge of the woods.

For a slightly longer walk, the route starting at Kufstein-Langkampfen Airport is ideal. It leads to the lake and back, is around 6.7 kilometres long and is described as an easy hike. This makes it well-suited for anyone wishing to combine a visit to the water with a straightforward activity.

Those wishing to spend more time out and about will also find trails in the surrounding area leading towards Thiersee, Dreibrunnenjoch or Pendling. Right by the lake, the focus is less on classic vantage points and more on the peaceful setting amidst water, meadows and woodland. For further views, a longer tour of the surrounding area is more worthwhile.
